Santarcangelo Festival 2022: 170 performances across 10 days

The 52nd edition of the Santarcangelo Festival, titled 'Can you feel your own voice', runs from July 8 to 17, 2022, under new artistic director Tomasz Kireńczuk. Featuring 170 performances of theater, dance, and music, the festival occupies unconventional spaces including a former cement plant (site-specific work by Anna Karasińska), the Le Befane shopping center (explored by Cardellini, Gonzalez, and Verginelli), and private homes (by Mats Staub). 40 international companies address uncomfortable contemporary themes through political readings of the body. Artists include Mónica Calle, Teresa Vitucci, Maria Kozłowska, Marina Otero, Léa Drouet, Lucy Wilke, Paweł Duduś, Marilú M.Námoda, Calixto Neto, Ntando Cele, Catol Teixeira, Alex Baczyński-Jenkins, Igor Shugaleev, Gabriela C. da Cunha, Annamaria Ajmone, Cristina Rizzo, Motus, Stefania Tansini, Rita Mazza, and the collective Siamo ovunque. Participatory projects include Dreams Come True, Hichmoul Pilon Production, collectif anthropie, and Jumpcor by Paweł Sakowicz. Each day closes with DJ sets and concerts at Imbosco. The festival marks a significant step in its global positioning.
