Santander and Casa de Velázquez Launch Third Artistic Residency Grant

The Santander City Council has announced the third edition of its artistic residency grant at the Casa de Velázquez in Madrid, offering a ten-month residency from October 2026 to July 2027. The grant is open to individual artists over 18 who were born in Santander or have been registered in the municipality for at least one year. Disciplines include painting, plastic arts, film, photography, printmaking, sculpture, dance, or curating. The selected artist receives free studio and housing, €10,000 for production, and €10,000 for maintenance. Applications must be submitted via the Santander electronic headquarters by May 7, 2026. Evaluation includes motivation letter (10 points), artistic project (50 points), CV (20 points), and an interview (20 points) for the top four candidates. The grantee will participate in the annual Paris exhibition and serve on the jury for the next edition.
