Sanremo Finale at Centro Pecci: Museum Hosts Song Contest Viewing

On February 10, 2024, the Centro per l'Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato will screen the final of the Sanremo Music Festival 2024 in its cinema, typically used for video art and auteur films. For €30, visitors get access to the exhibition "Eccentrica. Le collezioni del Centro Pecci" with a guided tour, an aperitif, and the screening. A €15 option includes only the festival viewing and a voucher for the exhibition. The event, promoted as an "eccentric elegance" dress code, includes a floral photobooth for Instagram. The initiative aims to attract a new audience but has sparked criticism on social media, with comments questioning the museum's direction. The Centro Pecci has faced internal turmoil, including the dismissal of director Cristiana Perrella (now at Panorama) and suspension of staff in 2023. Curator Luca Barni responded to criticism on Facebook, sarcastically suggesting adding a Lucio Fulci film to the ticket.
