Sandro Chia's 50 new works debut at Ravello Festival
The Ravello Festival presents 'Sandro Chia / Ravello' at Villa Rufolo from September 17 to November 5, 2017. Curated by Gianluca Riccio and Arianna Rosica, the exhibition features 95 works, including 50 previously unseen temperas on paper (30 x 40 cm each) created specifically for the event. Curator Rosica explained the aim was to show a lesser-known side of Chia, distinct from his Transavanguardia reputation. The works depict ambiguous, mysterious figures rendered ironic and playful through bold colors. All pieces are uniformly framed. The exhibition is part of the festival's broader effort to promote contemporary culture.
