SANAA Completes Bocconi University Campus Extension in Milan

architecture-design · 2026-05-04

Bocconi University’s Milan campus expansion by SANAA is nearing completion. Back in 2012, Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa won a competition that included renowned architects like David Chipperfield and Massimiliano Fuksas. The Castiglioni residence, which houses 300 students, is already up and running. Right now, they’re putting the finishing touches on the SDA School of Management buildings and working on a new sports and recreation center. The project covers 35,000 square meters on the site of the old Centrale del Latte, featuring designs inspired by Milan’s historical courtyards. This expansion continues Bocconi’s tradition of collaborating with famous architects, while broader city regeneration efforts may enhance areas like via Sarfatti and Parco Ravizza.
