San Severo Honors Andrea Pazienza with 60 Artists on What Would Have Been His 60th Birthday

exhibition · 2026-05-05

The MAT Museum in San Severo is celebrating the life of Andrea Pazienza, the prominent Italian cartoonist who passed away from an overdose in 1988 at the age of 32. The event, named 'Buon Compleanno Paz!', commemorates what would have been his 60th birthday. It showcases a collective exhibition featuring 60 comic artists, illustrators, and cartoonists, including notable names like Milo Manara, Vittorio Giardino, and Sergio Staino. Each contributor has created a personal illustrated gift. On May 22, the evening will include testimonies, video clips, and a special appearance by Vincenzo Gallo (Vincino), a friend of Pazienza. Giuliana di Cretico, Pazienza's mother, will also be present. The exhibition is open from May 22 to October 16.
