San Gimignano reopens Santa Chiara museum complex with new sections and Ken Nahoum show
The Santa Chiara museum complex in San Gimignano has unveiled its renovations, featuring enhanced galleries and fresh permanent exhibits, including Ken Nahoum's "All Eyes on Celebrities." A notable addition is a section dedicated to the Via Francigena, transforming the previous Archaeological Museum into the Archaeological and Via Francigena Museum. This space now highlights the 3rd-century BCE bronze statuette "L'Ombra di San Gimignano" alongside artifacts from Torraccia di Chiusi and Aiano. The Galleria d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea introduces new areas such as "Vedute di San Gimignano" and "Fermento locale." The exhibition is scheduled from April 6 to November 3, 2024, and was a collaborative effort involving the Municipality of San Gimignano, the Tuscany Region, and various organizations.
