San Art's Online Auction 'Thresholds of Motion' Aims to Rescue Fragile Vietnamese Nonprofit

From December 4 to 18, 2014, San Art, a nonprofit gallery and reading room in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, will conduct an online fundraising auction called 'Thresholds of Motion' via Paddle8.com. Co-founder Dinh Q Le stated that the organization, established in 2007 to fill cultural resource voids for contemporary Vietnamese artists, is currently in a "very fragile state." The auction showcases contributions from a variety of artists, including Vietnamese talents Lena Bùi, Tiffany Chung, Phunam, and Trần Minh Đức, as well as Cambodian artist Khvay Samnang, Kabul's Khadim Ali, and American Tammy Nguyễn, all of whom have worked with San Art before. Bids range from $500 for Trần Minh Đức's six C-print photographs to $12,500 for 'Collision: Urban Sporty Mover' by The Propeller Group. Proceeds will aid San Art's various initiatives, including curated exhibitions and workshops.
