Samyang Schneider 14-24mm f/2.8 Lens Finally Available for L-Mount on April 30
Samyang, also known as Rokinon in some regions, has announced that its 14-24mm f/2.8 Schneider-Kreuznach collaboration lens will be available for Leica L-mount starting April 30. Previously exclusive to Sony E-mount since its announcement last April, the lens is the first of three Schneider-Kreuznach optics to reach L-mount. Samyang joined the L-mount Alliance in 2023 but has been slow to release lenses for the mount; only the AF 35-150mm f/2-2.8 had made the jump before. In February, Samyang promised the entire three-lens series would come to L-mount, including the 60-180mm f/2.8, which has not yet been officially released. PetaPixel's Chris Niccolls reviewed the lens on E-mount last July, noting strong performance for the price despite some ghosting and filter care requirements. The lens is marketed as a legendary ultra-wide zoom for L-mount users.
