Samsung's Third Rural School Library by Wall Architects of XAUAT

Wall Architects of XAUAT, led by Wu Rui and Wang Maozhen, completed the third Samsung library in rural China under Samsung Semiconductor's CSR program. The 350 m² project, photographed by Jinquan Kong, continues a series started in 2020 at the foot of the Qinling Mountains. The first library, Zhongnan Book Pavilion (2021), revitalized its school; the second, Qin Feng Book Pavilion (2023), created a shared space for school and village. The architects emphasize a distinction between architect-controlled and open components, inviting co-creation by teachers and students, aligning with N. John Habraken's 'Open Building' concept. Clients include Xi'an Gaoxin No.19th Middle School and Samsung China Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
