Samsung Library No. 3 Opens in Qinling Foothills by Wall Architects of XAUAT

Samsung Library No. 3, the third in a series of rural school libraries by Yuan Architecture Studio (Wall Architects of XAUAT), has been completed in 2025 at the foothills of the Qinling Mountains. The 350 m² project is part of Samsung (China) Semiconductor's CSR program, supported by the Shaanxi Hope Project. Lead architects Wu Rui and Wang Maozhen designed the library for Xi'an Gaoxin No.19th Middle School, with clients including Samsung China Semiconductor Co., Ltd. The design team included Liu Zexian, Gao Jiale, Wang Pengfei, Hou Lanxin, Zhang Muyan, Zhang Huanyue, Cao Jingyuan, and Quan Junlong, with collaborating architect Bai Yiyao. The series began with 'Zhongnan Book Pavilion' (2021) and 'Qin Feng Book Pavilion' (2023), which created shared spaces bridging school and village life. The architects emphasize a distinction between architect-controlled elements and open-ended components, inviting teachers and students to co-shape their environment, aligning with N.
