Sampdoria and Macron Release 80th Anniversary Kits Honoring Predecessor Clubs

For its 80th anniversary, Italian football club Sampdoria, in collaboration with Macron, has released two commemorative kits that pay homage to its predecessor clubs, Sampierdarenese and Andrea Doria, which merged in 1946 to form the current club. The Samp kit features a cream base with red and black horizontal bands, inspired by Ginnastica Comunale Sampierdarenese (founded 1891). The Doria kit uses a white and blue quartered pattern with the cross of St. George, referencing Ginnastica Andrea Doria (founded 1900). Both jerseys include an 80th-anniversary logo where the zero becomes the shield of St. George, topped by the club's mascot Baciccia. The kits are made from Eco Poly Piquet, a recycled polyester fabric, with Eco Micromesh panels for breathability. The club emphasizes that these are not traditional home or away kits but distinct portraits of the two original teams.
