Samantha Stella's Video Art on Tormented Love at Palazzo Tozzoni
On February 12, 2021, artist Samantha Stella performed the site-specific piece 'In Hora Amoris' at Palazzo Tozzoni in Imola, Italy. The work was inspired by the love story between Countess Orsola and Giorgio Barbato Tozzoni, reinterpreted through the lens of the Pre-Raphaelite poet and painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti and his muse Elizabeth Eleanor Siddal. The audio features Elizabeth's poignant poems, performed by a white-clad figure in the rooms once inhabited by Orsola and Giorgio. The video work, acquired into the museum's permanent collection, is on view until April 2, 2021, during museum hours.
