SAM Street Art Museum Opens in 14th-Century Fortress in Narni, Umbria

On May 1, 2023, the Street Art Museum (SAM) is set to launch within the Rocca Albornoz fortress located in Narni, Umbria, under the leadership of Gianluca Marziani and Stefano Antonelli. The museum will house two galleries dedicated to temporary exhibitions, a study center, workshops, and a section for a national urban art initiative. SAM proudly announces it as the first museum to showcase a permanent collection of over thirty works by Banksy, including 'Girl with Balloon' and 'Flower Thrower', as well as pieces by Haring, Basquiat, and others. The opening exhibition, titled 'Origins – Rhizome – Una storia aumentata della Street Art_capitolo uno', will kick off with the 'Wall Street' program. Additionally, a permanent Banksy exhibit named 'Realismo Capitalista' will debut on May 21, 2023, focusing on inclusivity and fresh viewpoints in art history.
