exhibition · 2026-04-26

The Museo Storico della Fanteria in Rome will host a significant exhibition named 'Salvador Dalí, tra arte e mito' from January 25 to July 27, 2025, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Surrealism. Curated by Vincenzo Sanfo, the exhibit showcases approximately 80 pieces, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, ceramics, glassworks, engravings, lithographs, documents, books, and photographs sourced from private collections in France and Italy. It emphasizes Dalí's lesser-known ties to Rome, where he resided several times, notably in 1954, when he was hosted by Countess Mimì Pecci-Blunt and collaborated with Elsa Schiaparelli on fashion. The exhibition also features works by René Magritte, Max Ernst, and others, and begins with Dalí's early career, highlighting his relationships with Federico García Lorca and Luis Buñuel.
