SaloneSatellite celebrates 25 years as design talent incubator

festival-fair · 2026-04-26

The SaloneSatellite, founded and curated by Marva Griffin Wilshire, marks its 25th anniversary at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. Since 1998, it has launched 14,000 young designers from over 58 countries, many of whom achieved international fame. The 2024 edition features about 600 participants from 37 countries and 22 design schools, including first-time participants Prince Sultan University (Saudi Arabia), Belgrade Business and Arts Academy of Applied Studies (Serbia), Michael Graves College (USA), and Xi'An Jiaotong-Liverpool University (China). A jury of experts will award the most meritorious designers. Concurrently, the exhibition 'Universo Satellite' at Triennale Milano, curated by Beppe Finessi and installed by Ricardo Bello Dias, revisits the entire history of SaloneSatellite through sketches, drawings, and prototypes, highlighting the relationship between production and young talent.
