Salone del Mobile launches Raritas collectible design section at Milan design week
During Milan design week, Salone del Mobile unveiled its inaugural Salone Raritas section, which focuses on collectible design. Dezeen highlighted five remarkable installations from this new fair. At Max Radford Gallery, Lewis Kemmenoe showcased Quilted Fragments, featuring patchwork chairs crafted from various European woods. Galerie Philia's How High the Moon, curated by Ygaël Attali, presented a striking combination of stainless steel, aluminium, and silver-toned furniture. Sabine Marcelis introduced Plume, a piece made of pale-pink polymer resin and silicon oil that examines air movement in liquid. The new brand Matera, founded by Stefan Scholten and Manuela Rotta, launched with stone creations by Ronan Bouroullec and Clara von Zweigbergk. Zaha Hadid Architects displayed Erosion at Neutra, featuring flowing marble seats and tables. Salone Raritas occurred from 21 to 26 April 2026 at Fiera Milano in Rho, Milan, Italy.
