Salone del Mobile Launches Raritas, a Collectible Design Section Featuring 26 Galleries
During Milan Design Week, Salone del Mobile unveils Raritas, its inaugural section dedicated to collectible design, located in Hall 9 of the Fiera exhibition center in Rho. Spanning 12,900 square feet, this area houses 26 galleries that present antiques, limited editions, and innovative creations. Among the highlights is a nearly 10-foot-tall pink resin fountain designed by Dutch artist Sabine Marcelis. Notable exhibitors include Edward Mitterand, showcasing Lalanne works priced between $115,000 and $578,000, and Alessandra di Castro with Renaissance stone capitals. Marta Sala Editions features furniture by Herzog & de Meuron, while other participants include Max Radford, Slide Gallery, Draga and Aurel, and Xavier Lust. Salone President Maria Porro aims for collaboration with Art Basel to introduce a new design language alongside established brands.
