Salone del Mobile 2026 Highlights: Collectible Design and Domestic Architecture

The 64th edition of Salone del Mobile in Milan attracted 316,342 visitors from 167 countries, featuring over 1,900 brands across 16 pavilions. A new section, Salone Raritas, debuted as a contemporary cabinet of curiosities dedicated to collectible design, showcasing unique pieces and limited editions by 26 international galleries, including works by Sabine Marcelis and Herzog & de Meuron, with scenography by Formafantasma. Furniture brand Sancal presented Experimentarium, a critical response to algorithmic cultural homogenization, blending science, art, and philosophy. Italian faucet manufacturer QuadroDesign, in collaboration with studio Giacomo Moor, created a modular stand that will be relocated to Zambia in August to become the first public bathroom in the Masala neighborhood, in partnership with the association Koalisation. CRISTINA faucets unveiled Everyday Matters. A Study of Being Present, an installation by Experiential/H focusing on mindfulness in daily rituals. Besana Carpet Lab, designed by Finemateria, transformed carpet into architectural language with a chessboard-patterned immersive space. Spanish brand Punt Mobles launched its first collaboration with Foster + Partners Industrial Design, presenting the BEAM shelving system and COLUMN table family, which apply structural logic to furniture. Roca's Mediterranean Rituals installation, designed by Mesura, reimagined the bathroom as a sanctuary of well-being through interconnected spatial sequences.
