Salone del Mobile 2025: Robert Wilson, Sorrentino, and Light Forum
The 63rd edition of Salone del Mobile will take place from April 8 to 13, 2025, in Milan. Presented at the Piccolo Teatro, the event features a new Euroluce International Lighting Forum titled 'Light for Life, Light for Spaces,' curated by Annalisa Rosso, with an arena designed by Sou Fujimoto. American artist Robert Wilson will create an installation titled 'Mother' at the Castello Sforzesco, engaging with Michelangelo's unfinished Pietà Rondanini, opening on April 6 with free entry. The installation includes a live performance of Arvo Pärt's Stabat Mater. Filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino presents 'La dolce attesa,' exploring waiting spaces, while interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon presents 'Villa Héritage' on heritage. The fair hosts over 2,000 exhibitors from 37 countries across 169,000 square meters. The advertising campaign is by photographer Bill Durgin, focusing on the human body. The MiTo Design Connections initiative, promoted by Unione Industriali Torino and Camera di Commercio di Torino, fosters collaboration between Turin and Milan during the design week.
