Salone del Mobile 2022 postponed to June due to pandemic
The Salone del Mobile, the world's largest furniture fair, has been postponed from April to June 2022 due to the pandemic. The decision was made by the board of Federlegno Arredo Eventi, moving the event from April 5–10 to approximately June 7–12 at Fiera Milano. Stefano Boeri stated that the two-month delay could facilitate work without compromising the novelty effect of products. The fair aims to return in person after the Supersalone experiment in September 2021 and will celebrate its 60th anniversary. President Maria Porro noted that the postponement ensures safety for exhibitors, visitors, and journalists, and that the June date will boost international participation and allow companies adequate preparation time. The fair will focus on sustainability. Meanwhile, miart has confirmed its April dates (April 1–3 with preview March 31), with director Nicola Ricciardi expressing confidence in the fair's opportunity for galleries, collectors, and professionals. Fiera Milano had already postponed Homi and Bit fairs.
