Salon PAGE(S) Spring Biennale Returns to Bastille Design Center

festival-fair · 2026-05-26

The 28th edition of Salon PAGE(S), a biennial spring event dedicated to fine art books, will take place on May 30–31, 2026, at the Bastille Design Center in Paris. The theme is the art of bookbinding, highlighted by ten invited binders. President Catherine Okuyama describes binding as both armor and garment, protecting the book's enigmatic block while revealing its beauty. Materials include leather, paper, parchment, wood, metal, and lacquer, adorned with fittings, embossing, or marquetry. An exhibition of exceptional bindings, lent by a major collector, complements the event. The salon showcases the entire rare book universe, from miniature to folio formats, featuring accordion books, cut-outs, collages, drypoint engravings, photographs, and manuscripts. Authors, visual artists, and publishers form the "trio of magicians" central to bibliophilia. The book "La bibliophilie aujourd'hui" by Yves Peyré will also be presented. Admission is free; a catalog costs ten euros. Hours: Saturday 11am–8pm, Sunday 10am–7pm.
