Salomon and Carpet Company Turn Habibi Express Van Into Sneaker

other · 2026-05-21

Salomon has partnered with Baltimore-based skate brand Carpet Company to release a limited edition XT-Whisper Void sneaker inspired by the brand's iconic 1995 red Honda Acty Street van, the Habibi Express. The collaboration reinterprets the silhouette with glossy red accents referencing the van's bodywork, iridescent TPU inserts mimicking its windows, and Carpet Company's signature devil horns and custom graphics. The shoe retains Salomon's technical performance heritage while channeling Carpet Company's DIY skate aesthetic. Only 1,720 individually numbered pairs are produced, a nod to the warehouse address at 1720 Llewelyn Avenue where the van is stored. The sneaker launched on May 21 at the Salomon Store Brera in Milan, Italy.
