Salma Tuqan Appointed Director of Nottingham Contemporary Starting March 2023

In March 2023, Salma Tuqan will take on the role of Director at Nottingham Contemporary, transitioning from her position as Deputy Director at Delfina Foundation, where she has been since 2019. This appointment coincides with the gallery receiving renewed funding from Arts Council England amid significant cultural budget cuts post-pandemic. Tuqan's impressive curatorial background includes eight years as the Contemporary Middle East Curator at London's V&A and serving as Head of Artists' Projects at Art Dubai since its launch in 2007. Her notable projects include Palestine c/o Venice at the 53rd Venice Biennale in 2009 and Until my veins collapse at Mac Lyon in 2022.
