Sally Mann's Major Retrospective in San Sebastián

The Kutxa Foundation presents 'Macula et materia' at Tabakalera in San Sebastián, a comprehensive survey of Sally Mann's photographic series from 1983 to 2025. Curated by Anne Morin of diChroma photography, the exhibition runs until October 2026. It includes iconic series such as 'At Twelve' (1983-1985), 'Immediate Family' (1984-1994), Virginia landscapes (1992-1996), Georgia (1996), 'Deep South' (1998), and later works like 'Faces' (2004), 'Proud Flesh' (2006-2015), 'Delta' (2016), 'Platinum Stones' (2022), and 'Goshen' (2025). The show highlights the continuity in Mann's concerns—childhood, family, nature, historical memory, illness, decay, and corporeality—despite the apparent diversity of subjects.
