Salisbury Cathedral Restores Burne-Jones and Morris Stained-Glass Window
A two-year restoration of Salisbury Cathedral's 'Angels' window, designed by Edward Burne-Jones and William Morris, has been completed. The 6.5-metre-tall window, depicting ministering and praising angels, was removed in February 2024 due to water damage and deterioration. Head glazier Sam Kelly led the project, cleaning the glass and adding protective glazing without altering the original surface. The window will be rededicated at evensong on 7 May 2026 at 5.30pm.
