Saint Laurent Launches Independent Film Production Company at Cannes 2023

At the 76th Cannes Film Festival, which took place from May 17 to 27, 2023, the luxury brand Saint Laurent introduced Saint Laurent Productions. The launch featured two short films: 'Strange Way of Life' directed by Pedro Almodóvar, starring Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal, alongside a tribute to the late Jean-Luc Godard, who passed away in September 2022. Since taking the helm in 2016, creative director Anthony Vaccarello has expressed a desire to explore various film genres, collaborating with directors like David Cronenberg and Paolo Sorrentino. Past projects include the 2018 'Self' series and films from Spring/Summer 2022. The Spring/Summer 2023 campaign, titled 'Directors' Cut,' showcased talents such as Cronenberg and Almodóvar. Yves Saint Laurent famously designed costumes for 'Belle de Jour' (1967), alongside biopics from Jalil Lespert, Bertrand Bonello, and Olivier Meyrou (all 2014).
