Saint Laurent and Anthony Vaccarello revive Charlotte Perriand's lost furniture designs in Milan exhibition

architecture-design · 2026-04-22

In April, during Milan Design Week, the exhibition Saint Laurent-Charlotte Perriand was unveiled at Padiglione Visconti, featuring a collaboration between Saint Laurent and Belgian designer Anthony Vaccarello alongside the estate of architect Charlotte Perriand. This showcase highlighted furniture designs from 1943 to 1967 that had previously only existed as sketches, with four pieces being reproduced in limited editions on a made-to-order basis. Perriand, notable for her collaborations with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, significantly impacted modern interior architecture and avant-garde movements worldwide, including in Japan. The showcased items include La Banquette de la Résidence de l'Ambassadeur du Japon à Paris, La Bibliothèque Rio de Janeiro, La Table Mille-Feuilles, and Le Fauteuil Visiteur Indochine, with assistance from the Japanese Embassy for their accurate recreation.
