Sagomastudio's Bar Rito: Raw Walls and Burgundy Marble in Milan
In Milan's Porta Venezia district, sagomastudio has completed Bar Rito, a 50-square-meter bar at Via Achille Maiocchi 18 that pairs stripped-back historical walls with Wenghe Bordeaux marble and industrial steel. The design emphasizes material subtraction, revealing historic pigments and chisel marks on the walls, while restored terrazzo flooring merges with contemporary concrete. A monolithic marble bar counter by Marimar serves as the focal point, complemented by custom tables designed with Giovanni Campitelli featuring iron bases with orange-peel texture. Vintage chairs add domestic warmth, and a continuous deep red bench runs along one wall. The bathroom is a white cube with fittings by Quadro Design, offering a sensory contrast. The project joins Milan's sophisticated venue circuit alongside MoGo Hi-Fi Bar by Giorgia Longoni Studio, Onda Listening Bar, and Ganko Feat.
