Saeda's Becks B-Quest BQ1 Camera Combines Photography with MP3 Playback at $118

Japanese company Saeda has introduced the Becks B-Quest BQ1 digital camera under its BECKS brand, priced at 18,800 yen (approximately $118). The device features a 4-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with 854 x 480 resolution and includes both front and rear cameras. The main camera uses an 8-megapixel Type 1/2.9 sensor with a fixed 25mm equivalent prime lens, while a secondary 5-megapixel Type 1/3.2 sensor enables selfies. Digital zoom reaches 10x, though image quality is limited for social media use. Video recording supports 4,096 x 2,304 resolution at 30 fps, storing files on microSD with USB-C charging. Uniquely, the BQ1 functions as an MP3 player, though it lacks a headphone jack or Bluetooth connectivity. Saeda's promotional images likely overrepresent the camera's capabilities, with actual performance comparable to older mid-range smartphones. Launch is scheduled for May 7 in Japan, with no international release announced. The camera includes 15 creative filters, a cold shoe for an optional LED light, and Wi-Fi for file transfer.
