Sacra Neapolis exhibition at Lapis Museum showcases MANN artifacts

exhibition · 2026-05-04

The exhibition 'Sacra Neapolis – culti, miti, leggende' is currently on display at the Lapis Museum in Naples, showcasing artifacts from the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (MANN) for the first time. Among the items are statues of Isis and Nike, coins, sculptures, and busts from the 3rd and 4th centuries, as well as 'Di-Oscuri', an installation by La Scarabattola workshop. This event, a joint effort between MANN and the Pietrasanta Polo Culturale Onlus association, highlights the importance of public-private collaboration. The 6th-century church of Pietrasanta was constructed on the site of the Temple of Diana, which Raffaele Iovine referred to as 'a modern factory of culture'. The exhibition is part of the 'Via dell'Archeologia' route, launched on March 3, 2019. Additionally, 'Napoli – storia, arte, vulcani' explores volcanic activity.
