Sacha Jafri creates world's largest painting in Dubai for charity

other · 2026-04-27

British artist and philanthropist Sacha Jafri has completed The Journey of Humanity, a 1,800-square-meter canvas painted at the Atlantis, The Palm hotel in Dubai. The work is set to be certified as the world's largest painting by Guinness World Records. Proceeds from its sale will support education, healthcare, and digital access initiatives in developing countries, aiming to save 10 million children. Children worldwide contributed drawings inspired by 'connection' and 'isolation,' which were incorporated into the canvas. After a global museum tour, the painting will be divided into 60 numbered, signed, and framed sections to be auctioned at a Royal Gala Dinner & Charity Auction in December 2020 at the same hotel, in collaboration with The Global Gift Foundation, UNICEF, UNESCO, and Dubai Cares. Funds will go to the Humanity Inspired initiative, which addresses the digital divide between developing and industrialized nations. According to The Art Newspaper, Jafri's collectors include Barack Obama and Madonna, and over 100 celebrities such as David Beckham, Deepak Chopra, and Eva Longoria have supported the project.
