Sabina Mirri and Verde Edrev in Dialogue at Alessandra Bonomo Gallery, Rome
Sabina Mirri (Rome, 1957) returns to Alessandra Bonomo Gallery in Rome with a new exhibition linked to Verde Edrev (born Verde Cordero di Montezemolo, Florence, 1995). The show follows a previous dialogue with Sandro Chia. During that opening, Luigi Ontani left a golden candy on a shelf of a structure representing the artist's studio, inspired by Antonello da Messina's Saint Jerome (2014) and exhibited in the provisional inventory of the artist's studio in 2017. Mirri's work features pungent anthropomorphized rabbits and a chromatic world that is crunchy, pungent, erotic, and captivating. A notable corner-altar includes Monkey 47 gin on a pile of fundamental books and collages such as Untitled, which verticalizes a domestic scene viewed from above. Verde Edrev's Tell me me enters Mirri's private studiolo and the public gallery space, elaborating a new narrative open to color, body heat, nudity, recognition, and diversity. Mirri entered the art world very young with a first solo show at Galleria La Margherita in Rome in 1976.
