Sabiá Arquitetos and Trema Arquitetura Renovate Large Apartment in Copan Building

architecture-design · 2026-05-18

Sabiá Arquitetos and Trema Arquitetura have completed the renovation of a 340-square-meter apartment in the Copan Building in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2022. The project involved merging two neighboring three-bedroom units in Block D into a single large residence. The original wall dividing the two living rooms was completely removed, and the walls of two adjacent bedrooms were partially demolished, creating a social area with 24 meters of free, curved facade facing the building's brise-soleil. The high-floor apartment offers panoramic views of the city and the Serra da Cantareira mountain range. A mirror placed on the central circulation core encourages the eye to find new vanishing points in the vast urban landscape. The project was executed by Aimberê Construção, with carpentry by Marcenaria Taniguchi, granilite by Casa Franceza, metalwork by Mekal / Reni Art, and lighting by Lumini. Photographs were taken by Pedro Kok.
