Ryoji Ikeda Brings Supercodex Live to Verona

Japanese artist and composer Ryoji Ikeda will perform Supercodex live on March 21, 2015, at Interzona in Verona, Italy. Supercodex is part of Ikeda's trilogy of audiovisual works that began with Dataplex (2005) and Test Pattern (2008), exploring the relationship between sound and data through algorithmic synthesis. The performance, supported by the Consulate General of Japan in Milan, immerses audiences in a techno-abstract flow of molecular sounds and visuals derived from numerical and physical principles. Ikeda's work, released on the Berlin-based label Raster Noton, pushes the boundaries of sound construction and audiovisual genesis, stripping away semantic and narrative connotations to focus on pure data. Interzona is a local association known for promoting experimental artists and musicians.
