Ryan Oskin and Kate Stone's 'Inside Out' Exhibition at Transmitter Gallery Explores Architectural Illusions
From March 29 to May 5, 2019, the Transmitter gallery in Brooklyn hosted 'Inside Out,' a joint exhibition featuring the works of Ryan Oskin and Kate Stone. This showcase examined how constructed spaces influence perception through the mediums of photography and sculpture. Oskin presented 'Artifact' (2017–2018), which included a warped photographic print, and 'Double Skin' (2018), displaying three rotating fences. Stone's contribution, 'The Night Side' (2018), featured a crumbling wall, green carpeting, and graphite sketches, inviting viewers to look through fissures at cut-paper images and animations, enhanced by sounds of creaks and surges. Situated at 1329 Willoughby Avenue, the exhibition prompted contemplation on the nature of permanence and decay.
