Rya Kleinpeter and Tora Lopez perform at Bunker Artspace opening in West Palm Beach

exhibition · 2026-04-22

On December 2, 2017, the Bunker Artspace opened in West Palm Beach, Florida, during Art Basel Miami Beach. Founded by collector Beth Rudin DeWoody, the private collection features over 500 works curated by Laura Dvorkin and Maynard Monrow. The space, located at 444 Bunker Road, is accessible via the Brightline train from Downtown Miami and near Wynwood and Miami Beach. It joins other Miami collections like those of the Rubells, Margulies, and de la Cruz families. DeWoody's collection emphasizes unsettling psychological themes. New exhibitions include 'Her is HERE' curated by Eric Shiner of White Cube and 'Tales from the Crate Room' by E.V. Day, a 2016 Rome Prize winner. At the opening, artists Rya Kleinpeter and Tora Lopez performed 'Inner Course: The Agony of It All,' role-playing Lucille Ball with orange wigs in a scene from 'I Love Lucy.' They read from books on patriarchal myths about womanhood, breaking into theatrical tears. The Bunker Artspace is open by appointment.
