RVS Eyewear's eco-friendly glasses with artist-designed packaging

architecture-design · 2026-05-04

RVS Eyewear, founded in Istanbul in 2006 by Vidal Erkohen, launched the ONE, ALL, EVERY collection at Design Miami in Basel. The unisex glasses are fully recyclable and biodegradable, made from non-toxic materials. The transparent plastic frames use M49 bioplastic, an Italian patent by Mazzucchelli derived from cotton and wood fibers. Hinges and inlays are stainless steel with ion plating. Lenses are natural mineral glass from Japan. Packaging is recycled cardboard designed by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone. 25% of revenue from each pair is donated to initiatives linked to four models: Terra supports Jane Goodall Institute in Gombe, Tanzania; Fuoco backs E.O. Wilson's Biodiversity Foundation; Aria aids Wangari Maathai's Green Belt Movement in Kenya; Acqua funds Sylvia Earle's Mission Blue for marine ecosystem preservation.
