Ruy Ohtake's Residential Architecture Explored in São Paulo Exhibition
The Tomie Ohtake Institute is hosting an exhibition titled 'Ruy Ohtake – Percursos do habitar,' marking the reopening of the Casa-ateliê Tomie Ohtake, which is now a center for architecture, design, and the arts. Curated by Catalina Bergues and Sabrina Fontenele, the showcase features six residential projects by architect Ruy Ohtake, spanning from the 1960s to the 2010s, including five single-family homes and the Heliópolis Residential Condominium, known as 'Redondinhos.' Ohtake's unique 'house-square' design focuses on shared spaces while minimizing private ones, using light as a vital aspect of the layout. The exhibition, which runs from March 7 to May 31, includes models, photos, drawings, and videos highlighting Ohtake's social influence. It's open Thursday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00 at Rua Antônio de Macedo Soares, 1800, Campo Belo, São Paulo.
