Russell T Davies' thriller 'Tip Toe' tackles disinformation and neighborly conflict

Russell T Davies' upcoming thriller 'Tip Toe' explores a feud between two neighbors, one gay and one straight, that escalates as one falls into online disinformation. The series stars Alan Cumming as Leo Struthers, a 59-year-old bar owner in Manchester's Gay Village, and David Morrissey as Clive Goss. Cumming's character is revealed dead at the start of episode one, creating a suspenseful mystery. Davies, known for 'It's a Sin' and 'Queer as Folk', expresses concern about worsening societal hostility toward LGBTQ+ people, noting that progress seen a decade ago is souring. The show was filmed in a Manchester film studio and on location in Salford. Episodes 1 and 2 air on Channel 4 on May 31 and June 1, 2025. Davies hopes the series comments on the current world but doubts television can change it. The cast also includes newcomers Joseph Evans and Jackson Connor as brothers Saul and George Goss.
