institutional · 2026-04-20

In an interview with ArtReview, Fabien Vallérian, the International Arts and Culture Director of Ruinart, elaborated on the champagne house's artistic initiatives. The program began in 1896 with Czech artist Alfons Mucha and aims to examine the relationship between humanity and nature through artistic expression. Artists engage in residencies within the Champagne region, tackling local history and environmental challenges. Exhibitions are held worldwide, including at Ruinart's new location in Reims, showcasing over 40 collaborations and 19 commissioned sculptures. Vallérian emphasized NILS-UDO's 'Habitat,' which features three large nests in the Taissy vineyard. The address at 4 Rue des Crayères will continue to evolve with new artworks, fostering immersive experiences and future commissions focused on environmental themes.
