RUFA's New 6,000 sqm Campus in Rome's Ostiense District
The former Ex Falegnameria Triestina in via Libetta is being transformed into a new 6,000-square-meter campus by Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA) in the Ostiense district. Architect Alessandro Ridolfi is at the helm of the design, with construction commencing and the initial block expected by September 2022, aiming for completion by March 2023. Fabio Mongelli, the director of RUFA, emphasizes the district's evolution into a cultural center, bolstered by initiatives from Municipio President Amedeo Ciaccheri. The campus will include flexible spaces, green zones, and energy-efficient features in line with the 2030 Agenda for sustainability. Currently, RUFA has seven sites in Rome and intends to expand to Milan, while preserving the site's industrial heritage and creating a modern student piazza.
