RUFA Expands to Pastificio Cerere in Rome's San Lorenzo District
Starting in the 2016/17 academic year, the Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA) is set to establish a new campus at the historic Pastificio Cerere located in the San Lorenzo district. This former pasta factory, which served as a creative hub for the Gruppo di Via degli Ausoni during the 1980s and 1990s, hosted notable artists including Piero Pizzi Cannella and Giuseppe Gallo. RUFA will offer courses in Visual Arts, Scenography, and Visual and Innovation Design, alongside various meeting rooms and labs. Flavio Misciattelli, president of the Fondazione Pastificio Cerere, welcomed the partnership, while RUFA director Fabio Mongelli highlighted the necessity for new spaces due to the academy's growth. The initiative aims to rejuvenate the artistic spirit of San Lorenzo. RUFA's primary campus will continue to be in the Trieste district.
