Rubin Museum's Mandala Lab Workshops Engage Students at CSUSM
California State University San Marcos collaborated with the Rubin Museum's Mandala Lab Workshops in early April, supported by the Center for Contemplative Practices. The initiative included 14 workshops held prior to finals, engaging over 300 students. Participants delved into emotional themes such as Pride and Anger through diverse exercises, including synchronized breathing and mirror work. Tim McHenry, a founding member of the Rubin team, facilitated these sessions aimed at enhancing emotional awareness and ethical insight. Attendees reported heightened self-awareness and recognized envy as a driving force. The Mandala Lab, showcased in New York City from 2021 to 2024, will soon tour Bilbao, London, and Milan.
