Rubell Family Collection Expands Influence Through Exhibitions and Next-Generation Activities

institutional · 2026-04-20

The Rubell Family Collection aspires to be the largest private art collection, featuring a 45,000 sq ft foundation in Miami and organizing exhibitions of their artworks at smaller museums across the U.S. A significant exhibition, 30 Americans, launched at their Miami location during Art Basel Miami Beach in 2008 and is presently showcased at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. The Rubells were instrumental in introducing Art Basel Miami Beach to the city. Their children, Jason and Jennifer Rubell, are both engaged in the art scene. Jason's collection, Time Capsule, which includes pieces acquired from ages thirteen to twenty-one, was first presented as his college thesis at Duke University in 1991 and was featured at last year's Art Basel Miami Beach. Earlier this year, Jennifer, an emerging artist, held a solo sculpture exhibition at Stephen Friedman Gallery in London, showcasing a lifelike wax figure of Prince William. Additionally, her performance piece Made in Texas premiered at Dallas Contemporary in September.
