publication · 2026-04-20

Since 2000, an archive has been compiled documenting 25 years of the Indonesian collective ruangrupa's endeavors, showcasing their notable projects. Their work is categorized into three main types: long-term initiatives, single art projects, and exhibitions or biennales. Significant long-term initiatives comprise the ruru house residency (2001), ArtLab (2008), Karbon journal (2000), OK.Video festival (2003), and Jakarta 32°C festival (2004), among others. In the mid-2010s, they emphasized collaborative spaces such as Gudang Sarinah Ekosistem (2015–2018) and Gudskul Ekosistem (since 2018). They have participated in international exhibitions since 2001, including 'Lekker Eten Zonder Betalen' (2003) and the Istanbul Biennial (2005). Recent undertakings feature ruruhuis in Arnhem (2016) and ruruHaus in Kassel (2022).
