RRS Launches Cheaper Carbon Fiber Tripods with In-House Manufacturing

other · 2026-05-13

Really Right Stuff (RRS) has launched a new Core Line of carbon fiber tripods, including the Benchmark and Benchmark Inverted models, along with associated kits. These tripods are the first to utilize carbon fiber tubes produced entirely in-house at RRS's Lehi, Utah facility, a strategy designed to reduce expenses while ensuring high quality. Compared to the Mk2 series, the new tripods are approximately 30% less expensive, with the Benchmark priced at $945 and the Benchmark Inverted at $795. The Benchmark features a four-section design, while the Inverted has a three-section layout with twist-lock controls for better ergonomics and protection against dirt and moisture. Both models provide four leg angles (24, 44, 64, 84 degrees) and magnetic self-ratcheting adjustment tabs. The updated apex includes accessory ports and QD sockets for added modularity. Weighing 3.8 lbs, the Benchmark extends to 69.7 inches, whereas the Inverted weighs 3.6 lbs and reaches 61.1 inches. Kits combine tripods with BH-40 LR II or Anvil-30 ARC ball heads, catering to photographers and precision rifle shooters. The Inverted + Anvil-30 bundle is specifically designed for rifle and optics applications, compatible with both Arca and Picatinny rails. All items can be purchased exclusively from RRS.
