Rozana Montiel: Turning Scarcity into Abundance in Architecture

In November 2025, during Milano Arch Week at Triennale di Milano, Mexican architect Rozana Montiel delivered a lecture titled 'From disPARITY to rePARITY. How to turn the Wall,' which centered on 'Inequalities and Architecture.' As the founder of Rozana Montiel | Estudio de Arquitectura, she champions the idea of converting walls into areas that foster connection. Her Jiutepec project, CIVAC, features a civic-cultural center, a skate park, and a linear park. Montiel also addressed the 'Pilares' civic centers in Mexico City and the 'Labyrinth' initiative in Delegación Gustavo A. Madero. She contrasted architectural liberties in Mexico with European regulations and showcased her Quarto Oggiaro project in Milan, which had a budget of €2,700.
