Royal Photographic Society Announces 167th International Photography Exhibition at Saatchi Gallery

The Royal Photographic Society (RPS) has announced the 167th edition of its International Photography Exhibition (IPE), the world's longest-running photography exhibition, returning to London's Saatchi Gallery from August 7 to September 11, 2026. Over 5,200 photographers submitted work, with 113 prints from 48 artists selected by a guest panel. The exhibition explores themes including environmental issues, identity, conflict, memory, community, family, and culture, with many works using alternative processes. The IPE Award was given to Marcy Palmer for her series 'Seeds of Strength and Resilience' on reproductive rights, and the Under 30s Award to Léa Chen for 'The Stars That Don't Look Back' documenting three generations of women in Taiwan. The selection panel included Jaskirt Dhaliwal-Boora, Lydia Goldblatt, Max Gorbatskyi, Irene Lombardo, and Dr Michael Pritchard. The exhibition will tour to Taunton Museum (October 24, 2026 – January 9, 2027) and the Royal Geographical Society in London (April 5–28, 2027). Theprintspace will host a special showcase on August 20, 2026, during World Photography Week. Last year's IPE at Saatchi Gallery attracted over 65,000 visitors. The RPS, founded in 1853, is an educational charity committed to making photography accessible to all.
