Royal Mail issues Spice Girls stamp collection for 30th anniversary
The Royal Mail has released a series of 15 stamps honoring the Spice Girls, marking the 30th anniversary of the band's formation. The stamps, available from January 5, 2024, feature images from iconic performances between 1997 and 2012, including the 1997 BRIT Awards, the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, and concerts at Wembley, Istanbul, and Dublin. Five additional stamps show each member individually: Emma Bunton (Baby), Geri Halliwell (Ginger), Mel B (Scary), Melanie C (Sporty), and Victoria Beckham (Posh). The collection was produced in collaboration with Bravado and Universal Music. The Spice Girls, formed in 1994 through an ad in The Stage newspaper by manager Robert Herbert, have sold over 100 million records worldwide. Mel B has confirmed a reunion project for 2024, stating, "We are working on a big project, which will be announced very soon."
